A floor plan walkthrough studio

Know what’s wrong before you build.

Step inside your floor plan at full scale. Catch what blueprints cannot show. Start the build aligned.

What a floor plan walkthrough studio is.

Cascade is a floor plan walkthrough studio. We project your floor plan at 1:1 on the studio floor, and you walk it room by room, at the real size you are about to build. You feel the hallway. You see the kitchen-to-dining sightline. You catch the problems flat paper hides, while they are still cheap to fix.

A rendering is a picture of your home. This is you walking through it.

Three things a walk gives you.

Save money

Walking the plan surfaces layout and scale problems flat paper hides. A plan audit can value engineer up to 40% of construction cost without compromising the design. Fewer change orders. Fewer surprises.

Build with confidence

Walk out knowing exactly what you are building. No second-guessing an approval you made from a drawing you could not quite picture.

A smoother build

Get the whole team in one room. Client, architect, and builder leave on the same page. Alignment is the cheapest part of the build.

Meet Expensive Hindsight.

Expensive Hindsight is the moment a costly mistake reveals itself too late to fix cheaply.

  • 01 The hallway that was always too tight.
  • 02 The kitchen that doesn't flow to the dining room.
  • 03 The outlet, the door swing, the window facing the wrong way.
  • 04 The ceiling height nobody pictured.

None of these cost much to fix on paper. Every one is permanent in concrete. A walkthrough is where you catch them first.

What happens in a session.

01

Walk it at full scale.

Your floor plan is projected at 1:1 on the studio floor. You walk it room by room.

02

Mark up what catches your eye.

Layout, scale, flow, and the daily-life details. Nothing is too small.

03

We record everything.

The full session is recorded so you can review every decision later.

04

Leave with a marked-up PDF.

Take it to your architect, engineer, or builder. A clear list of what to change.

Most sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. The first 30 minutes are risk-free. If it is not worth your time, walk out at no charge.

7,000 square feet to walk.

Cascade is a 7,000-square-foot studio. Walkthrough space, plus a showroom where you can see finishes, materials, and furniture at scale before you commit. Our designer partner, Mallory of Bouchard Design Collective, can walk your plan and stage the showroom with you.

What walking first is worth.

80%

fewer change orders, on average.

Up to 40%

construction cost saved through value engineering.

Why the numbers move

A problem caught on the studio floor is a line on a PDF. The same problem caught on site is a change order.

Sessions run before the plans are stamped, while a fix is still a drawing revision.

Questions, answered plainly.

What does a session actually look like?

You walk your floor plan projected at full scale on the studio floor. You mark up what catches your eye. Everything you decide is recorded. You leave with a marked-up PDF for your architect, engineer, or builder.

How long does it take?

Most sessions run 60 to 90 minutes, longer if the plan is large or several stakeholders walk together. The first 30 minutes are risk-free, so you can leave at no charge if it is not worth your time.

Is this just a fancy 3D rendering?

No. A rendering is a picture of your home. A Cascade session is you walking through it at full scale, marking up what does not work, and leaving with a fixed plan. Different category, different mechanism.

Is this only for new construction?

No. Remodels, additions, and commercial layouts all use the studio. The 1:1 walkthrough works for anything you are building or building out.

What plans do you accept?

PDFs, CAD files, and most architectural plan formats. Bring what you have. The studio is 7,000 square feet, so most residential and many commercial plans fit.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is scoped at intake, not online. Submit the form or call the studio and the team will price your session. The first 30 minutes are free, so you can try it before you commit.

Who is behind the studio?

Cascade, an established builder. We built the walkthrough for our own clients first — the whole origin is here.

Where can I read more before booking?

The guides cover what a walkthrough is, when to walk your plan, and building across Utah — written by builders, not marketers.

Walk it before you build it.
